Mega Millions jackpot climbs to $122M
Wednesday, April 14, 2010 posted 05:14 PM EDT
The Mega Millions lottery jackpot has grown to $122 million after no tickets matched the winning numbers drawn Tuesday night:
3, 12, 27, 39, 47, and Mega Ball 32.
Eight tickets in Tuesday's drawing matched five numbers without the Mega Ball and won $250,000 each. Forty-five tickets matched
four of the numbers and the Mega Ball, and won $10,000 each.
The cash option for Friday's drawing of Mega Millions is worth an estimated $74.6 million. The annuity jackpot of $122 million
has been growing since March 12.
This also marks the third time this year that a Mega Millions prize has jumped above $100 million. The multi-state game had
a $134 million winner from California in March and a $144 million winner from Texas in January.
Mega Millions is currently played in 38 states including New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
The largest payout so far for Mega Millions has been a $390 million jackpot shared by a New Jersey couple from Cape May County
and a truck driver in Georgia in 2007
