A lucky lottery player in Michigan is holding a $135 million winning grand prize ticket from the latest Mega Millions drawing.
State lottery officials said the winning ticket from Tuesday night's drawing was sold at a gas station in Wayne County's
Redford Township.
"Congratulations to Michigan's newest millionaire," state lottery Commissioner Scott Bowen said in a statement. "We look
forward to presenting you with your check."
The winner can take a cash option worth $84.1 million after taxes, or choose to receive annuity payments for 26 years.
In addition to the grand prize winner, eight players matched all five numbers but not the Mega Ball number. They will receive
second prizes of $250,000 each.
Another 40 players, including four in Michigan, matched four numbers, plus the Mega Ball number — good for third prizes
of $10,000 each.
One California player matched five numbers, and 11 players matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number.
The prize amounts in California are different than what prize winners in the other Mega Ball participating states would receive.
The winning numbers from Tuesday night's drawing were: 4, 17, 26, 46 and 56. The Mega Ball number was 25.
