The $64 million question is exactly who bought that winning Mega Millions lottery ticket in South Jersey, where the winning ticket was sold.

The people at the market, which sold that lucky ticket worth up to $82 million said a guy named John is the big winner but that's about all they're saying.

State lottery officials said no one has come forward so Tuesday Johns all over town are being interrogated.

Township.

"I'm a John, I play my numbers there day in, day out. Everybody just put two and two together and right away it was me," McCaffery said. "I can only wish."

A disabled veteran and thinks the winner is another John who also became disabled serving his country.

But they aren't saying anything to the ladies who work the bar at the local Disabled Americans Veterans Chapter.

"We really don't know who it is but we do hope he's one of us. And he may help us out," said Sandy Grone, of Disabled American Veterans.

Meanwhile, at the market, Patti Jackson said the elusive John is a recent retiree who likes to fish, but beyond that her lips are pretty much sealed.

"He's a very nice guy. Married," she said. "I think today, he was waiting for today, to probably go get a lawyer and possibly go to Trenton and cash the ticket in."

It's the second time this year that a huge Mega Millions jackpot has been won in Cape May County. An Upper Township couple who bought a ticket worth $195 million from a Woodbine liquor store in March took about two weeks to come forward.

"People are coming out of the woodwork who I haven't seen in the longest time," McCaffery said.

McCaffery said he could only hope they stop calling, because like so many others right now he's just another John.

"I'm hoping the guy tells them who it is cause then it'll probably stop," he said.
