Georgia Lottery Winner Going To Sit A Bit
Thursday, March 08, 2007 posted 11:58 AM EST
A Georgia truck driver who won part of a record $390 million lottery jackpot appears to be a little stunned by his good fortune.
"It's just beginning to soak in a little bit," Eddie Nabors said on Atlanta's WXIA-TV of his Mega Millions winnings, which
works out to more than $116 million for him.
Nabors, who loves to fish, said he is going to pay off his new boat and truck. But first, "I'm going to sit down for a while,"
he said on WXIA.
Nabors lives in Dalton with his mother, Doris, who watched on TV as her son accepted his winnings from Georgia Lottery officials.
"It's just a dream. Unbelieveable," his mother said on WXIA.
His sister Becky told WXIA that Eddie Nabors is "a good man."
"Nobody deserves it more," she said.
Nabors bought $10 worth of Mega Millions tickets Tuesday, along with a cup of coffee at lunchtime at the Favorite Market,
WXIA reported.
The $12 million Mega Millions jackpot had rolled over 15 times since Jan. 12 to reach $390 million. Friday's jackpot is back
to $12 million.
