Schofield woman takes $412,500 in Powerball
Sunday, December 03, 2006 posted 05:05 AM EST
WAUSAU, Wis. A Schofield woman claimed a 600-thousand dollar Powerball prize yesterday in Madison after presenting a winning
Powerball lottery ticket.
Sharon Behle took home 412-thousand-500 dollars the day after the lucky numbers were announced from a ticket purchased in
Weston.
Lottery spokeswoman Jessica Iverson says Behle showed up before noon to fill out her claim form and take her lump check.
Iverson says the required withholding taxes -- 25 percent federal and six-point-two-five percent state -- were deducted from
the prize amount.
Behle has remained mum on her plans with the money -- she's declined comment on her prize.
A gas station on Schofield Avenue will receive a 12-thousand dollar commission for selling the winning ticket.
