BATON ROUGE, La. -- A 67-year-old Cut Off resident has claimed the $15 million Powerball jackpot from Sept. 30 after purchasing
the only ticket that matched all the numbers.
Jane Compeaux Jabert and her family arrived at the Louisiana Lottery Corp. offices on Monday in a white stretch Hummer limousine.
She was presented with an oversized check by lottery officials.
Jabert's nephew, Mitchell Compeaux, will be her certified public accountant, she said. "I'll just make sure Mitch tells me
not to spend too much," Jabert said.
Jabert said she planned to take a lump sum payment _ $5.08 million _ after federal and state taxes.
