Powerball Winner-Lawsuit
Friday, September 08, 2006 posted 02:00 PM EDT
CHARLESTON, W.Va - Powerball jackpot winner Jack Whittaker is suing several former business partners, claiming they owe one
of his companies more than two million dollars.
Norm Daniels, a lawyer for Whittaker LLC, filed two lawsuits on Wednesday in Putnam County Circuit Court.
One lawsuit names as defendant Absolut-Huntington LLC. Defendants in the other lawsuit are Absolut Holdings, Absolut-Teays,
Absolut-Clarksburg and Absolut-Morgantown.
The first lawsuit alleges that Absolut-Huntington hasn't repaid one and a half million dollars lent to it by Whittaker LLC
in April 2005. The second lawsuit claims that the other companies haven't repaid nearly 600-thousand dollars in promissory
notes since February 2005.
The lawsuits say the money was loaned to open Pizzeria Uno restaurants in several cities. All the restaurants have since
closed.
The first lawsuit also names as defendants Stephen Neu and Bruce Pauley, who were officers for the restaurants.
