Monday, July 10, 2006 posted 11:36 PM EDT
The Kansas Lottery just had its best year yet.
The lottery set an all-time high of $236.3 million in ticket sales for the fiscal year that ended June 30, officials reported.
That total is up 14 percent over a year ago and topped the old record of $224 million set two years ago.
The record ticket sales means an estimated $67 million will be transferred to the state for fiscal year 2006.
The most popular lottery offering was Instant Tickets, with $107.7 million in sales. Larger, faster-growing jackpots in Powerball
also contributed to higher ticket sales, with sales topping $54.4 million for the year.
