CA State Lotto Jackpot Climbs To $106 Million

The jackpot for Wednesday's SuperLOTTO Plus game has reached $106 million, making it the sixth largest lotto prize offered
in the 21-year history of the California State Lottery, according to lottery officials.
Wednesday's SuperLOTTO Plus jackpot is the largest to be awarded anywhere in the world, according to California lottery officials.
The largest SuperLOTTO Plus jackpot ever to be awarded was $193 million, and was split between three winning tickets in February
2002.
With a jackpot of $106 million, approximately $63 million will be given to public schools, according to lottery officials.
A retailer who sells a single winning ticket for the $106 million jackpot will receive $530,000.
The California lottery contributed more than $1.2 billion to public education this past year, according to lottery officials.
This is the sixth year the lottery contributed more than $1 billion to public schools.
