Powerball ads begin Monday
Tuesday, May 23, 2006 posted 10:00 AM EDT
RALEIGH -- Radio and TV commercials for Powerball were to begin airing across the state today. The games start May 30.
The animated pre-launch commercials simulate the white balls and red Powerball going through a chute as they will during
a real Powerball drawing.
The radio commercials also feature a rolling sound, which gets louder, to simulate something big is coming.
Tom Shaheen, executive director of the North Carolina Education Lottery, says Powerball is expected to significantly add
to the hundreds of millions of dollars generated by the lottery.
