(April 7, 2006)--A Coastal Bend woman has won millions of dollars in the lottery for a second time, lottery officials said.
Joan Ginther, 59, of Bishop, traveled Thursday to Austin to collect the top prize in the Holiday Millionaire scratch-off
game.
The prize was $2 million, from which about 25 percent, or $500,000, was subtracted for taxes.
Ginther bought her ticket at a Big Diamond convenience store in Kingsville.
Game cards for Holiday Millionaire cost $30.
Odds of winning break-even ($30) or more are 1 in 2.17.
Ginther in 1993 won jackpot of nearly $5.5 million, which she's collecting in annual payments over 19 years.
Lottery spokeswoman Kristina Tirloni says there were no odds available for winning millions twice.
Ginther couldn't be reached for comment.
